Designer, Sculptor, Artist

Stephen Kilcoyne

Stephen Kilcoyne is a designer, maker, and artist whose practice bridges decades of creative problem-solving with a deep respect for material. With a background in national brand design, he now channels his skills into fine art—working primarily with steel, salvaged Australian hardwoods, and stone.

His sculptures transform discarded and overlooked materials into enduring forms that balance raw strength with refined detail. Nails, wire, and scrap metal are welded into abstract impressionist life forms; fallen timbers are carved, charred, and polished into tactile vessels. Each piece carries the story of renewal—where memory, craft, and resilience meet.

Kilcoyne’s work is both industrial and poetic, rooted in a lifelong drive to make, to shape, and to discover beauty in what has been cast aside.
